No, the Happy Nappy Duo™ is designed to be used without any other swim diaper underneath. It is recognised by most US swim schools as a double diaper system, so no additional under-diaper is required.
The Happy Nappy Duo™ requires a correct fit for complete fecal leak protection. Since babies vary in size, it's essential to measure your baby accurately and consult the size guide for a snug fit around the waist and thighs. Measure your baby while lying flat and not immediately after a feed. Take measurements around their tummy, across the belly button, and at the fullest part of their thigh. When worn, there should be enough space to fit a finger comfortably around the edges of the seal, with no red marks.
As with disposable swim diapers, the Happy Nappy Duo™ does not hold in urine. It is designed to allow water to pass in and out of the diaper to prevent it from becoming waterlogged. However, it is incredibly reliable in containing solids.
To keep your Happy Nappy Duo™ in good condition, we recommend hand washing in cool water and drying away from direct sunlight. However, we understand that soiled diapers may occasionally require machine washing. If you need to machine wash, please do so at 85°F using a non-biological detergent. Please note that frequent machine washing may affect the longevity of the product.
